The ideal rate of bowel movements for a healthy person is around 1 to 2 per day. It’s uncommon that most people do not know this and thought it was normal not to have bowel movement for longer than 1 day.
Straining by force can cause bleeding after bowel movement that is also known as hemorrhoids where straining causes veins to break and results to bleeding on our stool. However, there are many cases of hemorrhoids and it is becoming common.
Hemorrhoids are categorized into 2 types that is the internal and external.
Internal hemorrhoids
It usually forms around the lining of the anal canal and in long term it sticks out after a bowel movement. If it gets worse in the long run, such as a protruding hemorrhoid, a hemorrhoid surgery will be needed.
External hemorrhoids
External hemorrhoids are painful as it forms a lump around the anus opening. In severe cases, it causes bowel movements to be painful.
Hemorrhoids treatment
If you suffer from hemorrhoids then you can treat it with these methods.
1. By eating ginger and garlic.
2. Go to the restroom as soon as it is felt.
3. Intake fish oil cod liver, Ester-C, and zinc.
4. Drink aloe vera juice.
For constipation problems, here is a list of methods which can be use to treat the problem.
1. Undergo colonics or enema.
2. Take olive oil in the morning and before going to sleep as it causes peristalsis and ease the bowel release.
3. Take fruit laxatives like Fennel Seed Tea , Rhubarb, Fruit-Eze and Triphala.
4. Take herbal laxatives such as Hemaron, Aloe Vera gel and Senna.
5. Take psyllium husks shakes and also probitotics.
6. Take Lecithin supplement.
It is important ot remember to take probiotics after fiber shakes or laxatives to return supplement and good bacteria that have been flushed out.
Here are some guide on maintaining healthy bowel movements.
1. It is advisable that one should have a bowel movement in the morning before going off anywhere regardless for school or work. To make that happen, you must drink a glass of warm water in the morning once you wake up.
2. Besides drinking water, you can drink good oil such as cod liver oil, olive oil and wheat germ oil.
3. Maintain a high fiber diet that consists of a lot of vegetables, fruits and healthy grains.
4. Exercise
5. Before your meal, drink a cup of peppermint tea. This tea is soothing and good for your health.
6. Avoid dependency on drugs such as anti-depression, sleeping pills and such. Try to find other options such as yoga or meditation to release stress.
7. Cultivate the habit of single tasking. You would be more productive when paying more attention on a single task.
8. Eat fermented foods like kefir, sauerkraut that function as a probiotic.
Overall, a healthy bowel is not painful and stress-free. When our bowels are unhealthy it tells us by sending out symptoms as signals such as constipation and straining.
